Footnotes and fancy-free

The prologue      10 Jan 2013  - updated in red text

I have been writing in the IWFS journal for some three years.  more   In preparing for the March 2012 issue, I adopted a new approach.  Assemble the material on a web page and then select items from it for the publication.

One aspect of the article/webpage is my aim to involve students.  There could be  a section for "My story".  The best would go in the article, the rest on the webpage.

Assuming a good outcome of recent competition activity - leading to Glasgow - , a satellite page might be demanded and to include all competition success.  A summary would go in the article.

All links for the students and staff here but not to be included, of course.

It is suggested that the article sets out the principal courses and shows samples of how they operate.  Readers are used to plenty of photos.

The first decision requested relates to the IF of the article.  We can proceed to the WHEN accordingly.

The HCT article was the second one to use this method.  Here is a mere framework for a future web page.   Once the material has been assembled, we can decide the content of the article.

IWFS and Hereford College of Technology - HCT  draft

The IWFS graphic will be replaced by an HCT graphic.

In writing his swansong to the series - Garnishes on the Menu, a Brief History, Prof. Alan F Harrison went to the college in September, where students were preparing the swans.  bla - bla.

Once IWFS members could read the article in December, he presented each student with a copy of the journal, on the back of which, the students could see themselves hard at work.  bla-bla

This is what they saw first, however. when they turned to the Editorial page .. .. ..

and they could use links from the yellow insert here.

The pages extend to offering the students the opportunity to send the Editorial page without the insert, to their family and friends.  They can, of course, send all the other pages.

The foot of the Editorial page links to the published article and the Editorial page here.

On returning home, Alan wrote a thank you to the students.  It was a matter of discussing the project and presentation first with the college Deputy Principal.  He said go ahead.  Alan then virtually descended on the students at work in the college restaurant without warning as you see here  the page would not be shown in the article and presented students with their personal copy.   [[[ That website material needs revising and posting elsewhere.]]]]
